During May work progressed well onsite with a number of key elements of the building being completed or started. The roof commenced at the start of the month and with the main areas completed, a week later we were able to start work on the external walls. The external walls are constructed using a steel frame system (SFS), which is then clad with insulation and covered with an external skin of either brickwork or Trespa cladding. The brickwork element of the extension is now underway and due for completion in the next two weeks.
As the SFS progressed work was able to start on the internal fit out of the extension. The first phase of mechanical & electrical works, consisting of the brackets and sockets, commenced towards the end of May and is now nearing completion. Construction of the internal walls has also commenced and as this work progress through the extension it will allow further trades to start onsite.
Over the next few weeks you will be able to see the external sides of the building take shape with brickwork being complete, Trespa cladding starting and external windows & doors being installed. Work inside will continue to move at pace with walls being constructed and the second phase of mechanical and electrical works commencing.
