World Book Day

March 3, 2016

To celebrate World Book day, some of our Governors came into school to read, and chat with the children.

Mr Rhead, parent governor, came to talk to year 6 about his favourite book, the epic tale of racism and prejudice in 1920s America,  'to kill a mockingbird' by Harper Lee.

Year 6 really enjoyed the discussion and had loads of questions about the book which sparked a debate about the complicated issues of the book. Year 6 then wrote their own recommendations of books they had enjoyed reading.

Mrs Yakas, our Chair of Governors read and discussed a  book with year 4...

And Mrs Latham, Community Governor read to Reception Class.

It was a lovely day!
