Year 4 at Ladybarn wrote postcards in Spanish to their peers at our link school in Madrid : CEIP Blas de Otero! The theme was school uniform so they explained what children at Ladybarn wear. The children at Blas de Otero do not wear a school uniform. Instead of postcards, they sent us a video of them doing a school tour for us! (in non - uniform!) Our postcards were sent all the way to Spain!
We also exchanged Christmas carols with CEIP Blas de Otero. We sent recordings of 'Feliz Navidad' in Spanish and CEIP Blas de Otero sent us recordings of '5 Little Elves' in English.

It was fun to practise Christmas songs in each other's language and exchange these!

The KS1 children exchanged Christmas cards too! As well as practising each other's language during this exchange, it was also interesting to see what Christmas meant for children in both Manchester and Madrid.
