Head of School - Mr Caldwell
I graduated in 2000 with a history degree from the University of Leicester. After a year working in music, I decided to teach abroad and spent 2002 teaching in China. I really enjoyed my time abroad and so came back and did a PGCE at the University of Brighton. In the following years I taught in Brighton and London, before getting married in 2005 and, subsequently, deciding to spend another year in Asia - this time on the incredible Jeju Island, South Korea. In 2006, I returned to teach here in Manchester and have been here at Ladybarn since 2010.
I have three children and when I'm not running around after them, I enjoy a range of sports. I am a keen mountaineer and love fell running, climbing, mountain biking, snowboarding – pretty much anything that can be done on a mountain! Prior to children, I was a martial arts instructor and still enjoy practising Taekwondo, and despite my knees starting to fail, you can still find me out on the astro-turf every week with my football team, believing I may still get scouted!
I feel very fortunate to work in this fantastic school and to be part of a great trust, with such amazing staff and pupils, and am passionate about further developing the already brilliant work that happens here.
