Coffee 4 Craig
We are delighted and very proud to announce that in 2018/19 Kingsway Community Trust has raised an incredible total of
for our trust charity, Coffee 4 Craig!
We are delighted to share that we have received certificates from our trust charity, Coffee 4 Craig, to thank us for all our amazing fundraising work last year. We received a certificate acknowledging how much we raised as a school which was an amazing £4253.83 and we were also given a certificate celebrating how much we raised as a trust.
Coffee 4 Craig, who help Manchester's homeless through their 7 day a week drop in centre, also wrote us a letter saying, "We would like to thank you for all your support and hard work in fundraising on behalf of Coffee 4 Craig - but more importantly on behalf of the people we work with and support to make steps towards getting support and accommodation. Your combined trust donation of almost £7000 is a fantastic effort and will go a long way in helping to run our 7 nights a week drop in centre in the city centre. Here, people receive food, clothes, support, wifi access and can take showers, watch TV, read and even paint. With ongoing support like yours, we have no doubt that we will continue to help the homeless people in Manchester."
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our staff and families for supporting this extremely worthwhile charity. Please do look out for fundraising activities this year!
Our Trust charity is 'Coffee 4 Craig', a charity that helps the homeless in Manchester www.coffee4craig.com. Watch out for our Christmas fundraiser!
The story of Coffee 4 Craig
Craig White... 24/04/76 - 03/09/13
Craig White was a son, an uncle, a brother and a father. He was the brother of Risha Lancaster and brother-in-law to Hendrix Lancaster the founders of Coffee4Craig Est 2013.
Craig was 37 when he passed away on the streets in his hometown of Cardiff. He died of a drug overdose after battling for years with a mental health illness. Within 3 days of his passing and knowing something had to be done, they decided to make a step into the unknown... What started as a simple call out on facebook for all their friends to buy a coffee for someone who is homeless, saying it was from Craig, quickly became a meal in Cardiff in his honour, then a food and coffee service in their home city of Manchester has now grown into a foodbank, 4 street kitchens over Cardiff and Manchester and they currently support over 200 people each week.
Their volunteer team has exceeded 50 active, like minded souls each week working to improve the lives of the homeless community and with us working to house individuals on a 1-2-1 basis.
