Assistant Headteacher - Ms Nanah
This is my second experience at Ladybarn Primary School. I was originally here as a child, where I had such a lovely time, with so many fabulous role models, that I wanted to be a teacher myself. I graduated in 1999 with an English B.Ed degree from Birmingham University and spent a year teaching in an infant school in Handsworth, Birmingham. I then moved to London, where I taught for 2 years. The pull of Manchester was too strong, and I came back to the best city! I worked in a primary school in the east of the city, and also in a children’s hospital, where I taught children on the oncology wards. This was an incredible experience. I came back to Ladybarn in 2009.
I have one son, and during evenings and weekends I am his official taxi service. We are active members of the rugby club my son plays for, and I often help out at community events. I have even made costumes for The Manchester Day Parade! I enjoy lots of hobbies, including sewing, and making clothes, decoupage and upcycling. I also love reading, and can often read 3 or 4 books in a week. I am a member of 3 book groups, one of which is with other members of staff at Ladybarn.
I am so happy to be at Ladybarn. It was very emotional coming back to the school I grew up in, but I now have lovely experiences as an adult as well as a child. The staff are amazing to work with, and the children are a credit to the school. I am so lucky to be a part of such a fantastic school.
